Ich bin dann mal weg!

Seit November 2011 habe ich déi gréng im Gemeinderat vertreten. Von November 2017 bis Juli 2023 war ich als erster Schöffe in unserer Gemeinde tätig.

Nach 14 Jahren bin ich nun der Meinung, dass es an der Zeit ist, mein Mandat als Gemeinderat an einen jüngeren Vertreter weiter zu geben.

Die Motivation für mein politisches Engagement war und bleibt, die Lebensqualität in meiner Heimatgemeinde zu erhalten und wenn möglich zu verbessern. Der Schwerpunkt meiner Arbeit lag auf der Stadtentwicklung mit all ihren Facetten. Mit dem Masterplang Schëffleng konnten wichtige Voraussetzungen geschaffen werden für:

• neue Schulen mit zugehöriger Maison-Relais,
• die Verbesserung der aktiven Mobilität (Fußgänger und Radfahrer),
• mehr Natur in unserer Ortschaft,
• zeitgemäße Infrastrukturen für Sport- und Kulturvereine.

Den letzten Punkt betreffend, sieht es leider so aus, als würde der derzeitige Schöffenrat das, was in vielen Versammlungen mit den Bürger*innen und Vereinen ausgearbeitet wurde, mehr oder weniger über Bord werfen. Es wird also noch länger dauern, bis den Vereinen Infrastrukturen, die den heutigen Anforderungen entsprechen, zur Verfügung stehen.

Ich bin überzeugt, dass Christiane Biewer und Nick Clesen (mein Nachfolger im Gemeinderat) das Tun und Lassen des aktuellen Schöffenrates genau im Auge behalten werden. Sie werden sich vehement weiter für eine bürgernahe und nachhaltige Entwicklung unserer Gemeinde einsetzen.

Auch wenn ich nicht mehr an vorderster Front stehen werde, werde ich mich weiterhin für Schifflingen einsetzen und unsere Lokalsektion déi gréng Schëffleng bestmöglich unterstützen.

Ich wünsche Christiane und Nick für die Zukunft eine glückliche Hand zum Wohle aller Bürger*innen

Unsere Vertreter im Gemeinderat

Ich stelle mich vor – Nick Clesen

Ab November 2025 vertrete ich gemeinsam mit Christiane Biewer déi gréng im Schifflinger Gemeinderat und übernehme damit das Mandat von Albert Kalmes, dem ich für sein Vertrauen und seinen langjährigen Einsatz für unsere Gemeinde herzlich danke.

Seine Arbeit war von einem tiefen Engagement für Schifflingen geprägt, ein Engagement, das ich gerne fortführe, um auf meine Weise zur Weiterentwicklung unserer Gemeinde beizutragen.

Als Vater einer kleinen Tochter setze ich mich besonders dafür ein, dass auch zukünftige Generationen die Chance auf eine lebenswerte, nachhaltige und gerechte Welt behalten. Menschen zusammenzubringen, den Dialog zu fördern und das Zusammenleben zu stärken, steht im Mittelpunkt meiner Arbeit als Sozialpädagoge, eine Haltung, die ich auch im Gemeinderat einbringen möchte.

Ich fühle mich Schifflingen eng verbunden. Meine Großmutter wurde in der Niddeschgaass geboren, mein Urgroßvater arbeitete auf der Schëfflenger Schmelz und seit 2020 ist Schifflingen mein Zuhause. Diese Wurzeln erinnern mich daran, dass Zukunft auf Geschichte aufbaut und, dass Verantwortung dort beginnt, wo man verwurzelt ist.

Dieser Verantwortung möchte ich mich künftig gemeinsam mit Christianestellen, hier, in unserer Nachbarschaft und für Schifflingen.

Hora da Próxima Geração

Desde novembro de 2011, representei o déi gréng no conselho municipal. De novembro de 2017 a julho de 2023, servi como primeiro vereador do nosso município.

Após 14 anos, acredito que chegou o momento de passar o meu mandato de conselheiro municipal a um representante mais jovem.

A minha motivação para o envolvimento político sempre foi, e continua a ser, manter e melhorar a qualidade de vida na minha comunidade. O foco do meu trabalho foi o desenvolvimento urbano em todas as suas dimensões. Com o Masterplang Schëffleng, foram criadas bases importantes para:

• novas escolas com as respetivas Maison Relais,
• a melhoria da mobilidade ativa (para peões e ciclistas),
• trazer mais natureza para a nossa cidade,
• e infraestruturas modernas para associações desportivas e culturais.

No que diz respeito a este último ponto, infelizmente, parece que o atual colégio de vereadores está a descartar em grande parte o que foi desenvolvido em muitas reuniões com cidadãos e associações. Assim, levará ainda mais tempo até que as associações disponham de infraestruturas que correspondam às exigências atuais.

Estou confiante de que Christiane Biewer e Nick Clesen (meu sucessor no conselho municipal) irão acompanhar de perto as ações do atual colégio de vereadores. Continuarão a defender com determinação um desenvolvimento municipal sustentável e voltado para os cidadãos.

Embora já não esteja na linha da frente, continuarei envolvido e farei o meu melhor para apoiar a nossa secção local, déi gréng Schëffleng.

Desejo à Christiane e ao Nick boa sorte e uma mão firme no seu trabalho em benefício de todos os cidadãos.

Os nossos representantes no conselho municipal

Apresento-me – Nick Clesen

A partir de novembro de 2025, representarei, juntamente com Christiane Biewer, o déi gréng no conselho municipal de Schifflange, assumindo assim o mandato de Albert Kalmes, a quem agradeço sinceramente pela confiança e pelo seu longo empenho em prol da nossa comuna.

O seu trabalho foi marcado por um profundo compromisso com Schifflange, um compromisso que tenho muito gosto em continuar contribuindo à minha maneira para o desenvolvimento contínuo da nossa comunidade.

Como pai de uma filha pequena, empenho-me especialmente para que também as gerações futuras mantenham a oportunidade de viver num mundo sustentável, justo e com qualidade de vida. Reunir pessoas, promover o diálogo e fortalecer a convivência estão no centro do meu trabalho como pedagogo social — uma atitude que também pretendo trazer para o conselho municipal.

Sinto-me profundamente ligado a Schifflange. A minha avó nasceu na rue Basse, o meu bisavô trabalhou na siderurgia de Schifflange e, desde 2020, Schifflange é o meu lar. Estas raízes lembram-me que o futuro se constrói sobre a história e que a responsabilidade começa onde estamos enraizados.

Quero assumir essa responsabilidade, juntamente com Christiane, aqui, no nosso bairro e por Schifflange.

Time for the Next Generation

Since November 2011, I have represented déi gréng on the municipal council. From November 2017 to July 2023, I served as First Alderman in our municipality.

After 14 years, I believe the time has come to pass my mandate as municipal councillor on to a younger representative.

My motivation for engaging in politics has always been, and remains, to maintain and improve the quality of life in my home community. The focus of my work lay on urban development in all its dimensions. With the Masterplang Schëffleng, important foundations were created for:

• new schools with their corresponding Maison Relais,
• improving active mobility (for pedestrians and cyclists),
• bringing more nature into our town,
• and modern infrastructures for sports and cultural associations.

Regarding the last point, it unfortunately seems that the current Board of Aldermen is largely discarding what was developed in many meetings with citizens and associations. It will therefore take even longer before our associations have facilities that meet today’s standards.

I am confident that Christiane Biewer and Nick Clesen (my successor on the municipal council) will keep a close eye on the actions of the current Board of Aldermen. They will continue to advocate vigorously for a citizen-oriented and sustainable development of our municipality.

Even though I will no longer be on the front line, I will continue to stay engaged and do my best to assist our local section, déi gréng Schëffleng.

I wish Christiane and Nick the best of luck and a sure hand in their work for the benefit of all citizens.

Introducing Myself – Nick Clesen

As of November 2025, I will represent, together with Christiane Biewer, déi gréng on the Schifflange Municipal Council, thus taking over the mandate of Albert Kalmes, to whom I extend my sincere thanks for his trust and his many years of commitment to our community.

His work was marked by a deep dedication to Schifflange, a commitment I am glad to continue, contributing in my own way to the continued development of our community.

As a father of a young daughter, I am particularly committed to ensuring that future generations also can live in a sustainable, fair, and liveable world. Bringing people together, fostering dialogue, and strengthening social cohesion are at the heart of my work as a social pedagogue — an approach I also wish to bring to the municipal council.

I feel deeply connected to Schifflange. My grandmother was born on rue Basse, my great-grandfather worked at the Schifflange steelworks, and since 2020, Schifflange has been my home. These roots remind me that the future is built upon history, and that responsibility begins where one’s roots lie.

I want to take on that responsibility, together with Christiane, here, in our neighborhood and for Schifflange.
